Personality: Samus is a reclusive individual. She prefers to be alone in her ship, or upgrading weapons and armor. Socializing is far from Samus's mind. If she makes a connection with a person, she will be more willing to become social. If not, expect just nods or awkward waves from her. Samus is known for being blunt as well. She'll tell a person upfront that she does not like them, and would do anything to avoid being around them. Despite being this way toward people she dislike, Samus will avoid a person she is romantically interested in. This is mostly due to her fear of becoming attached. Once attached, Samus will do everything in her power to protect the person, including risk her own life. If this person is harmed or dies, Samus will blame herself. She is shown to become a paternal figure toward anyone who is younger than her, or animals. It is easier for her to befriend animals and children, especially if they're an orphan.

AUs

✰ In the Fallout verse, Samus's backstory is slightly different. Samus was born in the Capital Wasteland during in 2269 (no pun intended). When she was young, a group of raiders killed the settlers who lived in the settlement, including her parents. Lucky for her, Samus was not discovered by the raiders due to her hiding in the closet. She was discovered by an ex Brotherhood of Steel member and took her in. The Brotherhood of Steel member taught Samus about self defense, how to properly use power armor, and other methods she needed to know in order to survive the wasteland. Eventually, she learned the name of the raider leader who killed her parents and decided to find him. Her research leads her to the Commonwealth in 2287.

✰ In the Mass Effect verse, her story is more accurate, except batarian space pirates were the ones who raided K-2L. She was found by the Alliance Military, similar to Shepard's colonist background story. She was expected to join the Alliance once she turned eighteen, but decided against it.
